AP Psychology – Intelligence Practice Test

The term "academic intelligence" refers specifically to cognitive abilities that contribute to success in an educational context. This encompasses a range of mental processes including reasoning, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills that are typically assessed through standardized tests and academic performance. Individuals with high academic intelligence are often adept at understanding complex concepts, learning from written materials, and applying their knowledge effectively in academic settings.

By focusing on cognitive abilities, academic intelligence emphasizes the kind of intelligence that is most relevant to traditional educational assessments. This term does not pertain to emotional factors or social skills, nor does it relate to physical capabilities in learning environments. It's strictly aligned with academic performance, which is why it stands out as the most appropriate definition in this context.
